Winter at the Alpine Inn
Greetings from the very snowy Catskills! We would like to welcome back those of you who have stayed with us before and also briefly introduce ourselves to those of you who may not be familiar with the Alpine Inn.

We are:	A small country inn in the center of the Catskill Forest Preserve 4 miles away from any major highway Beautifully situated on a hillside overlooking the valley, surrounded by tall pines, woods and streams
We have:	Twenty-five first class, warm, welcoming and especially clean rooms, accommodating up to sixty people. Our buildings are all chalet style reflecting our Swiss/German heritage A country dining room in which we serve caringly prepared, distinguished fare - fresh, flavorful and abundant (breakfast and dinner/box lunches to go are available) A spacious, inviting lounge, - naturally with the requisite fireplace to warm frosty toes. Wine, cheese and camaraderie complete the picture
We cater to:	Individuals, families and many groups and organizations. Obviously in the winter the emphasis is on the outdoors, but we have our share of escapists as well - those who value beautiful scenery, tranquil days, and memorable meals.

WINTER ACTIVITIES:

For the Skier - Downhill

We recommend and encourage you to ski Belleayre Mt, - a family oriented, challenging - but not intimidating, full service facility only 8 miles away. Ski packages are available in conjunction with lodging to make your stay more affordable. Additionally, you are within easy driving distance of some of the best kept secrets of Catskill skiing:

Cross Country Skiing

Most of our skiers prefer the facilities and proximity of Frost Valley. Only 11 miles away, they have rentals, instruction and over 35 kilometer of trails in a pristine setting (914) 985-2291

Mountain Trails Cross Country Ski Center- in Tannersville, instruction, and rentals, on 35 kilometer of Catskill wilderness (45 minutes) - (518) 589-5361

Belleayre, free cross country adjacent to the downhill facility on over 9 kilometer of trails (15 minutes) - (914) 254-5600/ 1-800-942-6904

Mohonk or Minnewaska, in New Paltz- on your way back home you should consider allowing the time to try either of these two wonderful cross country locations. They have the most extensive network of trails (Mohonk - 100 km., Minnewaska- 65 km.) and spectacular scenery. 1-800-772-6646/ (914) 786-2701

Should you choose not to ski at all- people do hike in the winter! Or horseback ride, rent a snowmobile, explore Woodstock, or be a really reactionary and do nothing- right in front of a mesmerizing fire in our lounge. We won't tell.
